Supporting Innovation and Improvement Learning Series

The Supporting Innovation and Improvement Learning Series is designed to build capacity for innovation and improvement in BC's health care system.  

Running since February 2009, the learning series is designed to: 

  • Build on current knowledge and experience with the model for improvement and collaborative process (using examples, lessons learned and faculty from BC)
  • Focus on specific change packages around the issues identified as we move forward in this work on topics such as access, redesigning roles, working with teams, process mapping and systems thinking, engaging leadership and patients as partners
  • Model coaching and facilitation skills
  • Address spread and sustainability, including accountability

This exciting opportunity involves: 

  • Learning together
  • Applying what is learned in your improvement role and in your workplace
  • Ongoing support and opportunities for sharing and learning from each other 

 

Who is attending?

  • Members of health authority Regional Support Teams who are working with Clinical teams in implementing the Practice Support Program, developing Integrated Health Networks, Divisions and other improvement initiatives 
  • Staff from health authorities, government and other organizations who want to learn more about the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's (IHI) structured improvement methodologies to support their change and improvement efforts
  • Clinical team members, physicians, MOA's, nurses, nurse practitioners, mental health clinicians and other health service providersParticipants are expected to identify their own aims and measures and report their progress
