Supporting Innovation and Improvement Learning Second Series Cohort
Following up on the success of our initial Supporting Innovation and Improvement initiative that began in February, 2009, we are pleased to announce the web conference version of the same series, which is broken down into three tracks:
- Quality Improvement Foundations
- Applications/Coaching of Quality Improvement
- Quality Improvement Leadership & Systems
The Quality Improvement Foundations web conference track began in October 2009 and wrapped up November 2009. The Applications/Coaching of Quality Improvement started November 2009 with a focus on Patients as Partners. The Applications track will now recommence with a focus on the Practice Support Program.
The Applications track will be structured in two series:
- Key Concepts and Skill Building - this series will focus on the key principles, skills and tools necessary for successful outcomes in the Practice Support Program, and will run throughout the summer of 2010 (please see schedule below).
- Sharing and Learning - this will follow up on the Key Concepts and Skill Building series. Participants can discuss what they have tried since the summer in each of the topic areas discussed in the first series, and share and learn from each other's experiences. The schedule for this series will be released in August 2010.
Who should attend:
- Members of HA Regional Support Teams working on PSP, IHNs, Divisions, and other improvement efforts
- Anyone who wants to learn the basics about improvement methodologies to support their efforts of change and improvement in their Practice Support Program work
- Clinical team members, physicians, MOAs, nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and other health service providers, community agencies
What are we trying to accomplish?
- Build capacity for quality improvement (QI) in BC as applied to the Practice Support Program
- Apply QI to the Clinical and Practice Redesign streams of the Practice Support Program
- Increase confidence in applying QI methodology to improvement work
- Create a community of learning around QI
- Improve individual and population health and provider and patient experience of care
- Increase confidence in applying tools necessary for successful outcomes in the Practice Support Program
