Supporting Innovation and Improvement Webinar: Using the power of persuasion to accelerate improvement
Date: November 16th 11am-12pm
Facilitators: Christina Southey, Quality Improvement Advisor - Team Lead; Connie Davis, Senior Quality Improvement Advisor
Resistance to change is a common obstacle in any improvement plan. Whether it’s the fear of the unknown or job security, people tend to retreat to what they have been doing even when they know it isn’t working. A 2004 study on organizational change management reported a 70% failure rate for all change initiatives. Even the most detailed Improvement plan runs the risk of failure without the commitment and cooperation of the people required to carry it forward.
This month ImpactBC's Supporting Innovation and Improvement Webinar Series will explore factors that influence decision-making and explore how they can be used and misused when working with others. Based on strategies described in Robert Cialdini’s book Influence, we will discuss:
- Rules of Reciprocity
- Commitment and Consistency
- Social Proof
- Liking
- Authority
- Scarcity
Please join us for what is sure to be an enlightening webinar on persuading your team or practice to re-examine their roles and how they can improve upon them.
