Practice Support Program
Introduction to the Practice Support Program
The Practice Support Program (PSP) is an initiative of the General Practice Services Committee (GPSC), in cooperation with the BC Medical Association (BCMA) and the BC Ministry of Health Services (MoHs). It was developed after extensive consultations with BC family physicians.
The program can help us attain the primary healthcare system we all want and need through:
- Training
- In-practice support
- Incentives
Contact your health authority Practice Support Team for information on start dates, locations, support, incentives and funding.

More About the Practice Support Program
The Program was created to help family physicians in BC network with colleagues and learn how to integrate new ways of doing things into their clinical practices. It is the result of a team effort involving family physicians, the BC Medical Association, the Ministry of Health Services (MOHs) and the health authorities and is delivered through BC’s five regional health authority Practice Support Teams.
The Practice Support Program includes:
- Learning modules and materials to support primary care clinical practices
- Ongoing practice support for family physicians and their clinical staff
- Compensation for family physicians and Medical Office Assistants (MOAs)
