Cowichan Valley Division of Family Practice

Under the umbrella of quality improvement, the Cowichan Valley Division of Family Practice is participating in a series of initiatives/projects which will examine the way services are delivered and coordinated within the greater community. ImpactBC will help support the learning of Quality Improvement (QI) methodology, tools, and techniques to facilitate the process of improvement.

Project goal

To build capacity within the Division to design and implement change initiatives which will improve the satisfaction of patients and health care service providers.

Objectives

  • To create QI project charters for each of the active Division working groups
  • To create a QI Learning and Innovation Community reporting structure with defined action periods for each of the working groups to report up to
  • To prepare monthly reports on the learnings, progress and measures for each working group in the QI Learning and Innovation Community. These reports will be used to inform the following about the progress of the division’s initiatives: GPSC, Provincial Attachment Working Group, Division’s membership, Other Divisions of Family Practice, Collaborative partners, and the Cowichan community.

Our role

Provide consultation to the Division Executive and Working Groups regarding progress on initiatives, as well as new QI information and strategies and prepare a summary report of best practices, progress and measures at the end of the 12 month period.
