Practice Support Program

Description

The Practice Support Program (PSP) is a major initiative of the General Practice Services Committee (GPSC), a bi-partite committee with member ship from the BC Ministry of Health Services (MoHS) and the BC Medical Association (BCMA). PSP was developed to provide change management support for office-based practice and clinical redesign efforts. The intent is to improve the professional work life of family physicians to enable them to improve the quality of patient care. Target populations served by the PSP are the family physicians of BC and their patients. The program structure includes management by a Provincial Coordinating Office and delivery by Regional Support Teams in each of the five health authorities across the province of BC. Teams include peer physician practice leaders and their medical office assistants.
