What We Do
ImpactBC coaches and consults with our health care partners in the areas of quality improvement and integrating the patient voice, working towards shared goals of:
For effective change to happen, we need three things:
-
Input
ImpactBC works with a wide range of groups within the health care sector: the Ministry of Health, health authorities, health care providers, and non-profit organizations. We also work with patients, families and caregivers through Patient Voices Network to ensure their voices are present.
-
Tools
We all agree that improvement is necessary, but organizations struggle with how to make it happen. Using evidence-based methods, ImpactBC can provide the expertise and guidance to nurture the process of change - making it move more smoothly and quickly.
-
Efficiency
The Model for Improvement asks three questions to clarify goals, identify measurements, and translate ideas into action:
- What are we trying to accomplish?
- How do we know that a change is an improvement?
- What changes can we make that will result in an improvement?
The model then helps translate ideas into action by enabling small-scale, rapid cycles of change, continually driving the process forward.
Learn how these practices have been implemented through a variety of improvement projects throughout BC, working with a variety of partners.
