The Patient Voice

Patient Voices Network

The Patient Voices Network is made up of BC patients, caregivers, family members, and others who wish to use their experiences for positive change to health care in BC. It is led by ImpactBC in collaboration with the Ministry of Health’s Patients as Partners initiative.

Patients are experts in their own lives, and the only ones who experience the entire journey of care. Through the Network, patients receive training and support to participate in the process of change, working collaboratively with partners. Including the patient voice in decision-making offers real benefits – both patients and providers report a richer experience, ultimately leading to a better system and a healthier population.

Join over 1000 Network members committed to better health care at both the individual and system level.

As experts in our own lives, we believe that patients can provide health system administrators and care providers with important information about how to best serve them and involve them as partners in their own care. Since its inception in 2008, PVN members have been matched with over 600 opportunities to work with health care providers and decision makers on a wide variety of health care issues.

Any BC resident over 19 years of age can join the Patient Voices Network by registering online at www.patientvoices.ca. Members receive updates and information about the patient voice at work in BC and can participate in surveys on health care topics. They can also access webinars and teleconferences to build skills, stay informed, and network with other patients.
